Moby Dick: or, the White T-shirt
Herman Melville was born on August 1st, 1819 in the Big Apple, lived for 72 years, 1 month and 27 days, held various jobs and places of residence, died and was buried in the Bronx. One of Melville's grandfathers helped out at the Boston Tea Party, while the other partied with James Fennimore Cooper, but nobody expected much from Herman, so it would probably surprise his family to learn he authored what is now generally considered the greatest American novel yet written. Sadly, such acclaim did not come until after Melville's death, forcing him to spend his august years as perhaps the most famous customs inspector the City of New York has ever known. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ against - ahab - air - aloft - alone - aye - bed - below - bildad - black - blood - blue - board - boat - body - bones - born - bow - boy - brain - broken - bulwarks - business - cabin - calm - cape - captain - carpenter - certain - chance - chase - chief - clear - coast - coffin - cook - craft - creature - crew - cried - curious - cut - daggoo - dark - darted - death - deck - deep - devil - dick - door - earth - end - ere - ever - eye - famous - fast - feel - fire - fish - flask - flukes - forecastle - forehead - form - found - free - general - gentlemen - god - gold - grand - greenland - ground - hard - harpoon - hat - heart - heaven - heavy - helm - help - hold - hole - home - indian - iron - ivory - jaw - jonah - kept - killed - king - lance - land - last - legs - leviathan - life - light - line - look - loose - lord - lost - low - mad - make - man - mark - mass - mast - mate - means - mere - mighty - mind - moby - monster - mortal - nantucket - nature - nigh - night - noble - oars - ocean - oil - old - peculiar - peleg - pequod - pip - pipe - point - poor - power - pull - quarter - queequeg - queer - quick - red - rolling - rope - run - sail - sailor - savage - sea - sharks - sharp - ship - short - shot - sign - sir - skin - sky - sleep - slowly - soul - sound - Sperm - spout - spring - starbuck - steelkilt - stern - straight - strange - strong - struck - stubb - sun - surface - tail - tashtego - teeth - ten - thus - told - top - town - truth - try - unknown - upon - vast - vessel - voice - voyage - wake - watch - water - waves - whale - white - wild - wind - wondrous - wood - world
