Capulet v. Montague
The play's most famous line is widely misunderstood. The word "wherefore" means "why", not "where", so when Juliet calls from the balcony, "O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" she is asking why his name (by implication, his family's name) makes him an enemy of her family, as the next lines make clear: "Deny thy father, and refuse thy name ... that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet." -- wikipedia ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ art - balthasar - banished - beauty - bed - benvolio - blood - body - bosom - breath - capulet - chamber - church - cousin - death - dream - eyes - fair - father - fear - flower - fortune - friar - gentle - grave - gregory - happy - haste - hate - heart - heaven - hence - holy - house - husband - ill - joy - juliet - kill - kiss - laurence - letter - lies - life - light - lips - lord - love - mad - mantua - marry - mercutio - montague - morrow - mother - murder - music - nay - news - night - not - now - nurse - pale - paris - peace - peter - poison - poor - pray - prince - quarrel - romeo - rosaline - sampsom - sea - shall - shame - sin - slain - sleep - soul - speak - stay - sun - sweet - tears - thou - time - tis - tongue - torch - true - tybalt - verona - villain - weep - wherefore - wit - young
