Alice's T-Shirt In Wonderland
The story of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland first came to life in a rowboat on the River Thames. It was created to entertain the daughters of a dean at Oxford, where Lewis Carroll, real name Charles Dodgson, lived and worked as a mathematics instructor. One of the daughters, named Alice, repeatedly begged the story be written down, and eventually Carroll complied, presenting her with a hand-printed and -illustrated version entitled "Alice's Adventures under Ground". Sensing he had a hit on his hands, Carroll financed the story's publication in exchange for 90% of the royalties. This gamble paid off for Carroll to the tune of $6.2 million in today's dollars by the time of his death, 13 days before his 66th birthday, in 1898. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ adventures - alice - anxiously - asleep - bill - birds - bottle - box - bright - butter - cat - caterpillar - changed - cheshire - cook - court - creatures - croquet - curious - dance - dear - different - dinah - dodo - door - dormouse - down - duchess - eat - exactly - eyes - fan - felt - fish - footman - game - garden - glass - gloves - grow - gryphon - half - hall - hare - hastily - hatter - heads - hearts - high - house - how - interrupted - jury - key - king - knave - large - lessons - lobster - mad - majesty - march - minute - mock - mouse - mushroom - off - ought - party - pepper - pig - pigeon - please - pool - puzzled - queen - rabbit - ran - reason - remember - sea - side - silence - size - small - soldiers - soup - suppose - table - tail - tea - time - timidly - tree - trial - turtle - twinkle - white - window - wonderland
